WHITMAN — Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Clancy report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to a crash involving a motorcycle Sunday night.
On Sunday, Oct. 12, at approximately 8:20 p.m., Whitman Police and Fire responded to Temple Street and West Street for reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
Upon arrival crews located a motorcycle and a black Chevrolet Equinox that appeared to have significant damage.
The motorcycle operator was transported to an area hospital for what are believed to be serious injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet, did not report any injuries.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the motorcycle operator was traveling eastbound on Temple Street and crashed into the Chevrolet, which was turning onto Martin Street.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Whitman Police Department.
