ATTLEBORO — The Attleboro Fire Department responded Thursday afternoon to a crash in which a car narrowly missed hitting a building.

On Thursday, Oct. 9, at about 2:09 p.m., the Attleboro Fire Department responded to a report of a crash outside a fast-food restaurant at 134 Pleasant St.

When they arrived, crews observed a single vehicle with moderate damage.

Two people were inside the vehicle — a male in his 70s who was driving, and a male passenger in his 20s. The passenger was able to exit the vehicle on his own, while firefighters assisted the driver out of the vehicle.

Both men were transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Brewster Ambulance assisted on scene.

“The outcome could have been much different,” said Lt. Corey Blais. “If this had happened during a busier time of day, it could have been a completely different call. It’s very fortunate that no cars or pedestrians were in the parking lot.”

The vehicle did not strike the building, but hit a curb in front of the business, which stopped the car. Attleboro Fire crews remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Attleboro Police Department.
