BEDFORD — Chief John Fisher reports that the Bedford Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning.
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, at approximately 1:03 a.m., Bedford Police responded to the area of Old Billerica Road and Burlington Road after receiving reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, Bedford Police found several shell casings in the area.
A preliminary investigation determined that an incident involving an alleged robbery originated in Lowell and subsequently spread into Bedford. During the incident, the suspect, who was seen driving a white Mercedes, shot at the victim’s vehicle. The victim was in the process of reporting the robbery to the police when their car was shot at.
There were no reported injuries. Bedford Police believe that this is an isolated incident.
The incident remains under investigation by Bedford Police, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police.
