Arlington Police and Law Enforcement Partners Investigating Fatal Crash

ARLINGTON — The Arlington Police Department, with assistance from law enforcement partners, is investigating a fatal crash on Sunday.

ARLINGTON — The Arlington Police Department, with assistance from law enforcement partners, is investigating a fatal crash on Sunday.

On Sunday, Oct. 5, at approximately 8 p.m., the Arlington Police Department was called to the intersection of Washington and Summer streets for a report of a crash.

First responders arrived to discover a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, Martin Mitchell, 65, of Arlington, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle, an 18-year-old Saugus woman, was also transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and was later released.

That driver is cooperating with an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Arlington Police Department, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and State Police Detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
