TOWNSEND — Superintendent Brad Morgan and North Middlesex Regional High School Principal Laurie Smith are pleased to share that senior Anna Bowen was named a Commended Scholar by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).

Bowen was recognized as part of the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program for her exceptional academic promise. Commended Scholars were among the top 50,000 highest scorers on the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, also known as the Preliminary SAT.

As a Commended Scholar, Bowen received a Letter of Commendation from the NMSC and the school district.

“Anna is a driven and considerate student with a strong passion for STEM. Over April break, she participated in the Women in STEM program, further fueling her interests in science and technology,” said Principal Smith. “For the past two years, Anna has been an intern in the Engineering Department at NMRHS, where she has applied her skills and curiosity in meaningful ways. She loves engineering because it allows her to be both creative and practical, collaborating with others to discover innovative solutions.”

“We could not be more proud of Anna and everything that she has accomplished here at North Middlesex Regional High School,” said Superintendent Morgan. “Anna has a curious but determined mind, and she excels in both her classes and extracurricular activities. She is a wonderful example of the talent, drive and potential of our student body.”
