SOUTHBOROUGH — Chief Ryan Newell reports that the Southborough Police Department charged a resident with open and gross lewdness.
A 40-YEAR-OLD MALE from SOUTHBOROUGH is being summonsed to court on charges of:
- Open and Gross Lewdness
- Indecent Exposure
- Disturbing the Peace
On Saturday, Sept. 27, at about 5:51 p.m., Southborough Police responded to multiple calls reporting that a naked man was standing on the side of Parkerville Road.
Officer Jonathan Paiva responded and located the unclothed man, who was visible to passing vehicles. He was identified as a 40-YEAR-OLD MALE from SOUTHBOROUGH.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the man had allegedly ingested a mixture of narcotics and was experiencing a mental health crisis. The investigation revealed that several vehicles had driven past the man, including some that had children.
The Southborough Fire Department responded and evaluated the man, then transported him to a local hospital.
He will be summonsed to Westborough District Court for arraignment at a later date. Because the court has not yet issued a criminal complaint, the suspect’s identity cannot be released at this time.
“Our officers responded quickly to protect the public and ensure this individual received the medical care he needed,” said Chief Newell. “We understand that this incident may have been unsettling for those who witnessed it. We want the community to know that we brought the situation under control quickly and safely.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
