WRENTHAM — The Town of Wrentham is hosting a series of upcoming outreach events where residents can learn more about the proposal for a new Public Works Facility, which will be considered at the November 3, 2025 Fall Town Meeting.

At the Town Meeting, a vote will be held to fund the construction of the new Public Works Facility.

The outreach events will include:

  • Public Works Open House and Touch-a-Truck Event: Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the DPW, 360 Taunton St.
  • Public Information Session: Wednesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. at Fiske Library, 110 Randall Road
  • Public Information Session: Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1 p.m. at the Senior Center, 400 Taunton St.

The Select Board established the Public Works Building Committee in January 2023 to oversee planning for a new or renovated facility to replace or enhance the current facilities located at 360 Taunton St. In November 2023, Town Meeting appropriated $1.6 million to fund the design of the Public Works Building Facility.

The current DPW facility lacks proper vehicle and equipment storage and maintenance space, which hampers operations and shortens the lifespan of the Town’s multi-million-dollar vehicle fleet. The building also has inadequate work areas and employee facilities.

“At the Open House, residents will have the chance to see firsthand the limitations of the current DPW facility and to ask questions about the proposal ahead of the vote,” said Town Manager Michael J. King. “We encourage all residents to take part in these informational sessions ahead of the Fall Town Meeting.”
