NORWOOD — Chief Christopher Padden reports that the Norwood Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, at approximately 5 p.m., the Norwood Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Columbine Road at Woodbine Road. Callers mentioned that a vehicle was seen fleeing the area.
Officers arrived and could not find any vehicles in the area, but a short time later another 911 caller reported there was a shooting victim in a vehicle at a gas station at the intersection of Dean Street and Route 1.
Norwood Police and Firefighters provided first aid to the victim, who was transported by Norwood Fire Department ambulance to a local hospital.
The incident remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
