CANTON — The following is a statement from the Town of Canton:
“The Town of Canton has been notified that the work stoppage involving Republic Services and its labor union has come to an end. We are pleased that this resolution will allow regular curbside trash and recycling collection to resume on Monday.
“We recognize that this situation has been difficult for residents and greatly appreciate the patience the community has shown during the past 11 weeks.
“We also extend our sincere gratitude to the Canton Department of Public Works for their extraordinary efforts during the stoppage to help minimize the impact on residents.
“The Town looks forward to a return to normal service and thanks residents for their understanding throughout this prolonged disruption.”
