Concord Police and Fire Investigating Suspicious Package

CONCORD — Police Chief Thomas Mulcahy and Fire Chief Thomas Judge report that the Concord Police and Fire Departments are currently on scene after a women allegedly walked into a local shop, placed a suspicious device on the floor, and pulled the fire alarm before fleeing.

Concord Police and Fire were called to the Nine Acre Farm Convenience store located at 1637 Sudbury Road at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious package. 

The restaurant and all businesses within 300 feet of the area have been evacuated. The area is a commercial zone, and no homes are in the immediate vicinity. However, residents and motorists are asked to avoid the area. 

Concord Police have ordered the following road closures at this time:

  • Sudbury Road from Nashawtuc Country Club to the Sudbury Line
  • Rt. 117 from Dakin Road in Sudbury to Lee’s Bridge

The State Police Bomb Squad has been called to the scene, and the Concord Police and Fire Departments are taking the matter seriously, following its established procedures.

The Acton and Bedford Fire Departments are covering Concord at this hour.

Members of the news media responding to Concord are asked to park and stage at Verrill Farm on Wheeler Road.
