STOW – The Select Board announces the appointment of Robert Maynard as the next Assistant Town Administrator.

The Board approved Maynard’s selection at its meeting of Tuesday, Aug. 26. Maynard was recommended by Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski following a open search process that attracted 35 applicants.

Maynard comes to Stow from the Town of Billerica, where he is serving as Assistant Town Manager.

In 2021 he was named Assistant Town Clerk in the Town of Maynard.

“When I was working in Maynard I was so impressed with the Town of Stow and its sense of community,” he said. “When I saw the job posting for Assistant Town Administrator in Stow, I knew I had to apply.”

He joined the Town of Billerica staff in 2022 as Director of Administrative Services. In that role he was the public’s primary liaison with the Town Manager’s Office, served on numerous committees, created content for the Town website to increase Billerica’s digital footprint, and coordinated projects with the Department of Community Planning and Development.

He was named Assistant Town Manager in January 2025, having direct oversight over several town departments. He also coordinated initiatives including community and economic development, transportation, and long-range planning.

Maynard holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in history from George Washington University. He is working toward a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University.

He moved to Stow with his partner earlier this year.

“Robert’s passion and enthusiasm for Stow was evident during his interviews,” Town Administrator Dembkoski said. “We look forward to welcoming him to #TeamStow and are excited about his contributions to the Town.”

Maynard will begin work with the Town on Sept. 15.
