METHUEN — The Methuen Police Department reports that the Street Crimes Unit recently arrested three men on fentanyl trafficking charges, and also took an illegally possessed firearm off the streets.
JACOB BARREIRO, AGE 20, OF DERRY, N.H., was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Amphetamine
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
- Possession of a Firearm without an FID
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID
- Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number
JOSHUA McKINNON, AGE 44, OF DERRY, N.H., was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Amphetamine
- Motor Vehicle Violations
THOMAS WINWARD, AGE 35, OF DERRY, N.H., was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Possession with Intent to Distribute Amphetamine
On Monday, Aug. 18, detectives from the Methuen Police Street Crimes Unit were conducting an investigation into narcotics distribution in the area of Larchwood Road and the surrounding neighborhood in response to ongoing community complaints.
As a result of surveillance and thorough investigation, detectives detained BARREIRO, McKINNON, and WINWARD. Police located amounts of fentanyl, amphetamine and cocaine during the investigation, and located a firearm with a defaced serial number in the possession of BARREIRO.
All three men were taken into custody without incident on Monday and arraigned Tuesday in Lawrence District Court.
These are allegations. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
