On Tuesday, Aug. 19, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Billerica Police were on patrol in the area of the Shops at Billerica, 480 Boston Road, due to reports of an ongoing car meetup causing disturbances in several neighboring communities. The driver, who suffered injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, was transported by Billerica EMS Ambulance to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. The passenger, who suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, was also taken to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center by Billerica EMS.

The Billerica Fire Department also responded. Boston Road was closed in the area throughout the morning and is expected to be reopened prior to the afternoon commute.
