TEWKSBURY – Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Boston man with breaking and entering and larceny.

DAMANTE BURRELL, AGE 32, of BOSTON, was arrested and charged with:

  • Breaking and Entering in the Daytime with the Intent to Commit a Felony
  • Larceny Over $1,200

On Saturday, June 28, at about 1 p.m., Tewksbury Police were dispatched to a residence on Trull Brook Lane for a report of a breaking and entering.

The home’s residents reported to police that they had heard a loud noise coming from the rear of the house and then saw what appeared to be two men running away from the home carrying a safe.

Residents reported that the safe contained a large sum of cash and several personal documents.

Police observed damage consistent with breaking and entering to the entryway door at the basement level.

During an initial investigation, police obtained a description of the vehicle in which the suspects fled and a possible identification of one of the suspects, BURRELL. Police determined BURRELL was known to the residents, and that this incident was not a random act.

Police also determined that BURRELL was on parole for multiple felony charges out of Lowell District Court, and was wearing an ankle monitor, through which police determined his location was at the home at the time of the incident.

At about 11:01 p.m. on Saturday night, BURRELL was located and arrested without incident by the Boston Police Department and transferred to the custody of Tewksbury Police.

Police recovered $678.00 in cash on BURRELL‘s person.

BURRELL will be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Monday, June 30.

“I would like to thank our officers and detectives, as well as the Boston Police Department for acting quickly to apprehend this individual,” said Chief Columbus.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
