Swansea Police Respond to Crash Involving Pickup Truck and Motorcycle

SWANSEA — Chief Mark Foley reports that the Swansea Police Department responded Saturday evening to a serious crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

SWANSEA — Chief Mark Foley reports that the Swansea Police Department responded Saturday evening to a serious crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

On Saturday, June 28, at approximately 6:12 p.m., the Swansea Police Department received multiple 911 calls reporting a crash with injuries in the area of 580 Grand Army of the Republic Highway. 

Officers arrived to discover a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The motorcycle operator suffered injuries that appeared to be life-threatening, and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. A passenger in the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. The driver of the pickup truck was evaluated at the scene but not transported. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Swansea Police Patrol Division, the Swansea Police Detective Division, and the Swansea Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. 

The Swansea Fire Department, Swansea Ambulance Corps, and Somerset Fire Department Ambulance also responded to the scene.
