EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Michael Jenkins and Town Clerk Kathleen Cavanagh are pleased to share that the East Bridgewater Police Department’s K-9 teams have received a special recognition from the Town Clerk’s Office for their outstanding service to the community.

As part of this year’s annual dog licensing process, Town Clerk Cavanagh prepared personalized letters and honorary dog tags for the department’s two working dogs, Patrol K-9 Thor and Comfort K-9 Morgan.

K-9 Thor, a 4-year-old German Shepherd who serves alongside Officer Joshua DeJesus as a patrol and narcotics detection dog, was assigned Tag #911 in recognition of his vital role in public safety.

K-9 Morgan, a 2-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who works with School Resource Officer Tallitha Connor and serves as a certified comfort dog in East Bridgewater schools, received Tag #430 in honor of National Therapy Animal Day, observed on April 30.

“These dogs play an integral role in our community, whether it’s protecting the public or supporting students and staff in our schools,” said Town Clerk Cavanagh. “This small gesture is a way to say thank you for their continued work on behalf of East Bridgewater.”

The recognition letters and tags are being sent directly to the K-9 handlers.

Chief Jenkins expressed his gratitude for the gesture.

“On behalf of the department, I want to thank the Town Clerk’s Office for this thoughtful recognition,” said Chief Jenkins. “K-9 Thor and K-9 Morgan are trusted partners, loyal companions and valued members of the East Bridgewater community, and we are proud to see them receive this recognition.”
