Bridgewater Police Investigating Crash that Injured Pedestrian, Required MedFlight Transport

BRIDGEWATER — Police Chief Christopher D. Delmonte and Fire Chief John Schaltz report that the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-vehicle crash on Broad Street Wednesday morning that seriously injured a pedestrian.

On Wednesday, June 25, at approximately 7:57 a.m., the Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a crash that left an adult pedestrian injured in the area of 3 Broad St.

The pedestrian was transported from the scene of the crash by Bridgewater Fire Department Ambulance 4 to the parking lot of St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 103 Center St., where the patient was then flown via MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.

The pedestrian, who suffered a head injury, was in the roadway at the Central Square intersection at the time of the collision. It was not immediately clear if the pedestrian was within the crosswalk.

The driver of the car involved in the crash remained on the scene following the collision.

In addition to Ambulance 4, Bridgewater Fire Department’s Engine 3, Car 2 and Car 1 also responded to the scene.
