LAKEVILLE — Chief Matthew Perkins reports that the Lakeville Police Department is currently on scene at Assawompset Elementary School after an underground drainage structure failed, compromising the integrity of a portion of the school’s parking lot.
There is no danger to students, staff or the public, and no injuries have been reported. However, the failure has forced officials to block access to the main parking lot entrance, which will affect parent pickup and bus dismissal this afternoon.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to follow all communications from the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District regarding important updates and changes to pickup procedures.
The Lakeville Police Department is working closely with school officials and public works crews to ensure the safety of the area and to assist with traffic control and dismissal.
