LITTLETON — Chief Matthew Pinard is pleased to report that 15 students and parents from Littleton High School have completed a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) class offered by Littleton Police Department.
The RAD self-defense system focuses on teaching women quick, effective defenses to the most common attacks in domestic violence, sexual assaults, and street assaults.
Over the past four weeks, 15 Littleton High School students and parents learned self-defense techniques and completed a final hands-on scenario where they put their skills into action.
The program aims to protect women from potential threats while building their confidence.
“We’re proud of the efforts of the participants and the confidence they gained through this program,” said one of the instructors, Officer Ilyas Abu.
“We are pleased to offer RAD self-defense classes to women throughout our community. These classes help women protect themselves while also building confidence in themselves,” said Chief Pinard. “I encourage anyone in the community who is interested in these classes to reach out to us.”
Anyone interested in attending future RAD classes, which have not been scheduled yet, should contact Officer Ilyas Abu at iabu@littletonpd.com.
