Concord Fire Congratulates Firefighter Tim Lilley on Graduating from Paramedic Training

CONCORD — Chief Thomas Judge is pleased to share that Firefighter Tim Lilley successfully graduated from Paramedic Training.

Firefighter Lilley graduated from Pro EMS paramedic training on June 6. During the graduation ceremony, Firefighter Lilley was awarded the Pro EMS Center for MEDICS Director’s Award, which is awarded to one graduate of the program who demonstrates exceptional dedication, leadership, and excellence in their training.

The Pro EMS class was an intensive 9-month program that began in September 2024 and consisted of academic, field, and clinical training, which was typically 25 to 30 hours per week. The course prepares students for National Paramedic Certification, and firefighter Lilley is scheduled to take the exam next month.

Firefighter Lilley joined the department in November 2021.

Firefighter Lilley was the first member of the department to enroll in paramedic training. Training was made possible through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) from FEMA funding, which was awarded to the department in July 2024.

The $948,266 grant was awarded to Concord Fire to cover costs associated with implementing a paramedic program at the department, which includes employee salary, tuition, and educational materials to train existing staff.

In addition to Firefighter Lilley, there are nine other employees currently attending paramedic training, and four additional employees who are enrolled for fall and winter courses.

“I want to congratulate Firefighter Lilley for his successful completion of paramedic training,” said Chief Judge. “We are fortunate as a department to have received funding to allow our members to pursue their paramedic certification, allowing us to better serve our community by providing the highest level of emergency service.”
