BOURNE — Superintendent Dr. Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou is pleased to announce that Lisa Sleboda has been appointed as the new principal of Bourne Middle School, effective July 1.

Sleboda brings over a decade of experience in Massachusetts public schools, most recently serving as principal of Randolph Community Middle School. She succeeds Christine Borning, who was selected as the new assistant superintendent for Bourne Public Schools.

Sleboda was selected following a rigorous search process led by the Bourne Middle School Principal Search Committee, chaired by Director of Technology Christopher Oliver. The committee reviewed 18 applicants and conducted multiple rounds of interviews, site visits and focus groups that included parents, staff and students.

“Ms. Sleboda brings a proven track record of collaborative leadership and a deep commitment to student success,” said Superintendent Dr. Quinlan-Zhou. “I would like to thank the Bourne Middle School Principal Search Committee members and our focus group participants for all the hard work they put into this important hiring process. We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Sleboda to Bourne Public Schools and look forward to her leadership at Bourne Middle School.”

Bourne Middle School Principal Search Committee Chairperson Christopher Oliver described the hiring process as “deliberate” and “thorough.”

“I am extremely proud of the search committee and the job we did,” Chairperson Oliver said. “It was a thorough, transparent process that included multiple layers of interviews and vetting. Everyone on the committee had an opportunity to share their thoughts on the candidates.”

During her tenure at Randolph Community Middle School, Sleboda led a multidisciplinary team that achieved a 10% reduction in chronic absenteeism in a single year. She also developed a school improvement plan focused on student outcomes and staff development.

Her previous roles include assistant principal at both Randolph High School and Randolph Community Middle School, as well as various leadership and teaching positions in Bellingham and the Bi-County Collaborative.

Sleboda holds a Bachelor of Arts in English in English from Saint Anselm College, a Master of Education in Moderate Disabilities from Lesley University, and a Master of Education in School Leadership from Worcester State University.

“I am thrilled to be selected as the next principal of Bourne Middle School,” Sleboda said. “Throughout the interview process, I truly appreciated the opportunity to meet with staff, students, and families, and to hear firsthand about the amazing things already happening in the school community. I’m inspired by the dedication of this vibrant community and am eager to contribute to a culture of excellence where every student can thrive. I look forward to collaborating with teachers, families, and community partners to build on established strengths, champion innovative approaches to learning, and ensure every student is supported to achieve their highest potential.”
