LAWRENCE — The Psychological Center, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges, is proud to announce the transformative impact of the generous funds recently raised through its Mardi Gras Derby.

Thanks to the support of the community, partners and donors, the Mardi Gras Derby raised approximately $32,000 for The Psychological Center, Inc. Those funds will directly enhance and expand the core services that define the nonprofit’s mission of providing homeless shelter support, addiction recovery programs, and mental health services.

Funds raised by the Mardi Gras Derby will be used to relocate Women’s View – a residential recovery program for women 25 and older – in a new, improved, and more accessible home in Methuen.

The new home will offer significant upgrades, which include expanded space for therapeutic services, including art, meditation and life skills programming; better access to public transportation and job opportunities; a modern, spacious layout designed to promote healing; and ADA-compliant support for all abilities.

“Thanks to our supporters, 15 women at a time will now have the chance to heal in a modern, calming space designed for dignity, growth, and long-term recovery,” said Carina Pappalardo, Chief Executive Officer of The Psychological Center. “The expanded environment creates a more comfortable, dignified and peaceful space for recovery to take root, and we are so grateful to our donors, sponsors, and our community for enabling us to take this step.”

In addition to this new chapter beginning at Women’s View, The Psychological Center, Inc., will also announce program additions that are coming soon, thanks to the funding received by the Mardi Gras Derby.

“This support goes beyond dollars — it represents hope, healing, and the possibility of a fresh start for hundreds of individuals in our care,” said CEO Pappalardo. “Every contribution is an investment in human potential, and we are profoundly grateful.”

As The Psychological Center, Inc. continues its mission to serve the most vulnerable members of the community, the nonprofit invites individuals and organizations to stay engaged, volunteer, and help spread the word.
