TYNGSBOROUGH — Greater Lowell Technical High School is proud to announce another year of outstanding achievement at the SkillsUSA Massachusetts State Leadership and Skills Conference.

During the State Awards Ceremony held on May 3, 14 GLTHS students earned medals across 12 competition areas, and seven students qualified to represent Massachusetts at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference this June in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to these outstanding student accomplishments, GLTHS received the Total Participation Award, recognizing the school’s commitment to involving every eligible student in the SkillsUSA experience. The Greater Lowell SkillsUSA Chapter was also honored once again as a Chapter Excellence Program Gold Chapter of Distinction for the 10th consecutive year and recognized as a National Model of Excellence.

The Models of Excellence program promotes the intentional learning of Personal, Workplace and Technical Skills as outlined in the SkillsUSA Framework for student development. Specific characteristics defined within each skill area benchmark student achievement and chapter programming. The hands-on approach of this program actualizes the SkillsUSA mission as students take the lead on all activities and practice the skills that employers seek including communication, teamwork and problem solving.

“The top 24 Models of Excellence schools represent the best in chapter achievement and member development. We are honored to receive this award for the ninth consecutive year,” said Sharon Cornellier, SkillsUSA Lead Advisor.

GLTHS also proudly announces that Tracy Martinez Iraheta was elected to the 2025–2026 State Executive Council and took her official oath of office during the ceremony.
