Littleton Public Schools Collaborates with Partner Districts During Special Olympics Day of Games, Hosted by CASE Collaborative

LITTLETON — The spirit of inclusion, teamwork, and community was on full display at the Special Olympics Day of Games held on May 8, as students, staff, and volunteers from Littleton Public Schools joined those from CASE Collaborative, Maynard Public Schools and Harvard Public Schools for a day of joy, athleticism and celebration.

The event was the result of months of planning and dedication by educators, staff and administrators who went above and beyond, maintaining their daily responsibilities while organizing a day filled with meaningful competition and unforgettable memories for student-athletes of all abilities.

Each district brought something unique to the table, and the collaboration among all four communities was nothing short of inspiring. From coordinating logistics and transportation to organizing events and cheering on every participant, the teamwork on display mirrored the core values of the Special Olympics: inclusion, respect, and determination.

“The amount of coordination and heart that went into making this day a success was truly remarkable,” said Lyn Snow, Director of Student Services for Littleton Public Schools. “It’s a testament to the dedication of every single individual who made it happen, all while continuing to support their students in every other way.”

Staff from all schools worked seamlessly together to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where every athlete had their moment to shine. Volunteers rallied around the athletes with cheers and high-fives, and the joy on the students’ faces was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when communities come together with a shared purpose.

Students took part in several events throughout the day, including basketball shooting, 30, 40, and 50 yard dashes,100-meter relay, long toss, tee-ball hitting challenge, shuttle run relay, ball kick into goals, cornhole toss and bowling.

The event highlighted not just athletic achievement, but also the deep bonds of community and inclusion that connect the participating districts. The Day of Games stands as a shining example of what can be accomplished through partnership and passion, and the lasting impact it had on all those involved will be felt well beyond the event’s end.

“Littleton Public Schools was proud to partner with Harvard Public Schools, Maynard Public Schools and CASE Collaborative to hold this special day of inclusivity and fun,” said Superintendent Clenchy. “Students, staff and volunteers alike had the opportunity to connect and form strong bonds. It’s events like these that showcase the tight-knit community we have here in Littleton and our surrounding communities.”
