CANAAN — Superintendent Amanda Isabelle and Indian River School Principal Kevin Towle are pleased to share that Library Media & Digital Learning Specialist Tod Guilford was named Rosen Publishing Northern New England School Librarian of the Month for May.

The Rosen Publishing Northern New England School Librarian of the Month recognizes members of the Maine Association of School Librarians (MASL), School Library Section of the NH Library Association (formerly NHSLMA), or Vermont School Library Association (VSLA) who provide outstanding service to their school and school library communities.

Guilford has worked as a Library Media Specialist for over a decade. He began his position at Indian River last year, returning to the district after working at the high school as a social studies teacher from 2001-2010.

He has also been a vital member of the School Library Section of the NH Library Association (NHSLS), serving on the board and conference committee and representing the Association at meetings.

“Mr. Guilford is a valued member of our school community. Our students are very fortunate to have a librarian as attentive and intuitive as Mr. Guilford at their service,” said Principal Towle. “Myself and the Indian River community congratulate him on this tremendously well-deserved honor.”

Indian River Middle School will receive a year’s subscription to a Rosen Publishing Group database and a set of print titles. Rosen Publishing Group offers print and digital books on a wide range of topics aligned with curriculum.

“I am honored to receive this award. Thanks to the Indian River administration and staff for supporting the library and making me feel welcome here at IRMS,” said Guilford.

“Congratulations to Mr. Guilford on this outstanding achievement,” said Superintendent Isabelle. “This award is a testament to the level of care he brings to his profession. We are pleased to have a librarian of his caliber working with our students and staff.”
