Burlington Police Assist Investigation into Threatening Remarks Made at Woburn Gas Station; Officers Remain Stationed at Burlington Mall

BURLINGTON — Chief Thomas Browne reports that the Burlington Police Department is seeking to identify a suspect who made threatening remarks while speaking to a clerk inside a Woburn gas station.

On Sunday, May 11, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Burlington Police responded to a call from Woburn Police about a person who walked into a gas station at 325 Washington St. in Woburn. The unidentified man, described as a white middle-aged male driving a gray sedan, made threatening remarks about the Burlington Mall.

Burlington Police and State Police were present at the mall as the retail stores closed at 6 p.m., and police remain stationed at the mall out of an abundance of caution as the restaurants at the shopping center remained open.

Burlington Police are investigating the incident with the Woburn Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police. All area departments and the Massachusetts State Police have been notified of the situation and are looking for the vehicle to help identify the suspect.

Investigators have obtained surveillance camera images of the suspect and his vehicle, described as a gray sedan. Police are actively searching for the suspect in Burlington and in the surrounding communities.
