HAVERHILL — Superintendent Dolores Fox shares that reports of potential threats to the schools in the Haverhill Cooperative School District on Tuesday were determined to be unfounded.
Just after 10 a.m., Haverhill Police contacted Woodsville Elementary School and shared it had received a non-specific threat against law enforcement involving the area of the school. Separately, the Grafton County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center contacted Haverhill Cooperative Middle School to report a potential threat. Based on information at the time, the administrative team placed the Middle School in lockdown, as well as Woodsville High School out of an abundance of caution.
The lockdown was reduced to a shelter in place order at 11:27 a.m., based on guidance from Haverhill Police that there was no active threat. The shelter in place was lifted at 11:34 a.m., and classes ended for the day shortly thereafter.
Superintendent Fox and the Haverhill Cooperative School District thank the Haverhill Police Department, Grafton County Sheriff’s Office, State Police, and other responding agencies for their professionalism and guidance.
(The Haverhill Cooperative School District will have no further comment at this time. Media inquiries should be directed to the Haverhill Police Department.)
