Lenox Public Schools Admin Team Hosts Trivia Night at Kimball Farms as Part of Larger Involvement Initiative

LENOX — The Lenox Public Schools Admin Team is making efforts to show support for students and the broader Lenox community through a together-event initiative that is now in its second year.

As part of this initiative, LPS Admin Team members come together three times a year (in the fall, winter, and spring) to attend a student event such as a ballgame, concert, or play as a group. Team members take turns picking an event, allowing the group to cater to various interests.

Superintendent Dr. William Collins said that he started the initiative last year as a way to build “esprit de corps” — a feeling of pride and camaraderie shared by a group — among the Admin Team that he was new to, while showing collective support for student and staff events.

This spring, it was Dr. Collins’ turn to choose the together-event. While attending a school business partners meeting, he learned that residents of Kimball Farms Life Care Community especially enjoy trivia nights, so he pitched the idea to the Admin Team to extend their reach and host one for residents. The Admin Team enthusiastically embraced the idea. The team invited Oren Cass, Chair of the School Committee, to join in the event, and he fit right in with the fun-filled evening.

The Trivia Night was held on Wednesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at Kimball Farms. This event was the first that the Admin Team’s initiative extended to the broader community.

After a lively and competitive evening of trivia, members of team “Number 1” squeaked out a one-point lead in the final round and were crowned the winners. Members of the winning team received special trophies and cake provided by the Admin Team, and gift cards provided by Kimball Farms.

“The participants have already been asking when the LPS Admin Team will be back to host another Trivia Night,” said Michelle Rosier, Director of Residential Service at Kimball Farms.

The Lenox Admin Team at the event consisted of Oren Cass, School Committee Chair; Dr. William Collins, Superintendent; Melissa Falkowski, Assistant Superintendent; Brian Kelley, Director of Student Services; Shannon Gagliardo, Food Service Director; Tom Hynes, Facilities Coordinator; Brenda Kelley, Morris Principal and Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment; Holly Soules, Morris Assistant Principal; Dr. Jeremiah Ames, LMMHS Principal; and Marcus Hass, LMMHS Assistant Principal.

“With many fantastic events happening district-wide, we can’t all make it to every single one, even though we might like to,” Dr. Collins said. “Through this together-event initiative, we are able to not only show our students that their entire Admin Team is here to support them but also spend time with each other beyond the workday and foster a sense of Lenox pride. The Trivia Night at Kimball Farms was our first non-student event, and we hope to continue to spread our Lenox Public Schools pride with other partner organizations in our community.”
