NORTH HAMPTON — North Hampton School Librarian Betsy McCombs has been named 2025 School Librarian of the Year.
The School Library Section (NHSLS) of the New Hampshire Library Association selects an exceptional New Hampshire school librarian each year who demonstrates outstanding leadership, innovation in library programming, and a deep commitment to student learning and literacy.
McCombs has chaired the NHSLS Annual Conference for the past three years, ensuring participants can connect, grow, and celebrate their profession.
McCombs has been a longtime member of the NHSLS Executive Board, known for her thoughtful input, collaborative spirit, and steadfast support of her peers. She is widely regarded as a role model within the school library community.
McCombs was honored by colleagues and students during a ceremony at North Hampton School. Students shared stories about McCombs’ willingness to share her time and expertise with eager learners. One student shared that McCombs ordered additional books in a series they enjoyed, aiding their love of reading.
“Betsy is an incredible advocate for children’s literacy,” Principal Susan Snyder said. “Her joy of reading is infectious and creates a building full of students who will grow up to become lifelong learners. She is the perfect choice for School Librarian of the Year.”
