Tyngsborough Police Department to Participate in Tip-A-Cop to Raise Funds for Special Olympics of Massachusetts

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Shaun Woods is pleased to report that Tyngsborough Police Officers will act as servers at Tavern in the Square later this month to raise money for Special Olympics Massachusetts.

The Tip-A-Cop event will be held on Tuesday, April 29, at Tavern in the Square, 440 Middlesex Road, Tyngsborough.

Tyngsborough Police Officers will act as special guest servers from 5-9 p.m., with all tips earned by the officers being donated to Special Olympics Massachusetts.

The event, one of seven being held at Tavern in the Square locations around the region, enables police to experience positive interactions with residents, while also raising money for a great cause.

“The Tip-A-Cop event is a perfect example of what community policing is all about — building positive relationships with the public in a way that’s fun, engaging and meaningful,” said Chief Woods. “It allows our officers to connect with residents outside of emergency calls and formal interactions. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Massachusetts, a cause that promotes inclusion and celebrates the incredible abilities of these athletes. We’re proud to stand alongside the Special Olympics and Tavern in the Square to help make a difference.”
