Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center Honors Dispatchers During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

HOLBROOK — The Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center (HRECC) is proud to recognize and honor its dedicated team of dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, observed April 13-19, 2025.

Each year, during the second week of April, agencies nationwide celebrate the critical role that public safety telecommunicators play in the emergency response system. Often the first point of contact for people in distress, dispatchers serve as the calming voice on the other end of the line, coordinating emergency services and helping save lives 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

HRECC provides emergency communications services to 13 communities across Norfolk, Plymouth and Middlesex counties. It also serves the Norfolk County Technical Rescue Team and the Fire District 4 Control Point.

The agency’s dispatchers are highly trained professionals who handle thousands of emergency and nonemergency calls annually, ensuring a prompt and efficient response for police, fire, and EMS personnel.

The HRECC team consists of 43 full-time telecommunicators, four shift supervisors, 11 full-time lead telecommunicators/dispatchers, 12 part-time telecommunicators, one training coordinator, one QA/QI analyst. one interoperability coordinator, one operations manager, one assistant director of communications, and one director of communications.

“We are incredibly proud of our Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center team,” said HRECC Director Steve Hooke. “Our dispatchers are the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support first responders and protect our communities. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to the residents and first responders we serve.”
