Caledonia Central Supervisory Union Responds to Report of Possible Threat at Danville School

DANVILLE — Superintendent Matt Foster shares that a report of a potential threat to the Danville School has been determined to be unfounded.

On Friday, April 11, a high school student told a teacher that they believed that another student was in possession of a weapon. The teacher notified the administration, following established procedures and protocols.

Though the report came from the high school section, the Danville School leadership team immediately placed the entire building in a soft lockdown, limiting student movement to ensure their safety.

The team also contacted Vermont State Police, whose troopers conducted a comprehensive sweep of the building. Troopers found no evidence of a weapon and determined there was no actual or ongoing threat to students and staff.

Superintendent Foster wishes to thank State Police for their prompt response, partnership and guidance.
