TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Lowell Man with drug distribution Wednesday evening.

BENJAMIN KHAMMANIVONG, AGE 27, of LOWELL, was arrested and charged with:

  • Distribution of a Class B Drug (subsequent offense)

On Wednesday, April 9, at about 4:45 p.m., officers in the Tewksbury Police Department Narcotics Unit were patrolling in the area of 1785 Andover St. when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between a gray Toyota Tundra and another vehicle.

Through an initial investigation, it was determined that the operator of the Tundra, identified as KHAMMANIVONG, sold approximately 3.8 grams of a white powdery substance that was later determined to be cocaine.

During a subsequent investigation, police conducted a motor vehicle stop of the Tundra and arrested KHAMMANIVONG without incident.

He was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Thursday, April 10.

These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
