TAUNTON — Superintendent-Director Dr. Alexandre Magalhaes, Principal Karen Guenette, and Head Coach Jessica Holst are pleased to share that the Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School cheerleading team became Game Day Champions at the 2025 AmeriCheer International Championship held March 15-16 in Orlando, Florida.

The championship performance, which took place inside the Toon Lagoon Amphitheater at Universal Orlando Resort, capped off a successful 2024-25 season for Craftsmen cheerleaders. The Bristol-Plymouth cheerleaders are also Mayflower Athletic Conference League Champions and State Vocational Champions.

This was the first time Bristol-Plymouth Cheerleading ever took part in the AmeriCheer International Championship, after qualifying for the Game Day category through a winning virtual bid in early December, in a performance that earned team members a discounted registration.

The AmeriCheer International Championship featured about 30 teams from high schools, colleges, and cheerleading organizations in the U.S., Canada, and Jamaica.

B-P’s first-place team was led by seniors Lilyana Arnold, of Berkley; Brooke Logan, of Middleborough; Miranda MacMullen, of Middleborough; and Alicia Thorne, of Berkley. The four seniors are all captains and have been part of the squad for their entire four years at Bristol-Plymouth.

The rest of the championship roster includes captain Riley Deveney, of Bridgewater; Ava Bettencourt, of Dighton; Annabelle Boucher, of Freetown; Avery Brown, of Rehoboth; Emily Carter, of Dighton; Olivia Couto, of Rehoboth; Skyler Dame, of Rehoboth; Julianna Fyfe, of Dighton; Evelyne Gagne, of Berkley; Cheyenne Granville, of Taunton; Jayla Holland, of Middleborough; Lilyana Laudicina, of Raynham; Ashlyn Reis, of Taunton; Jasmine Rubeski, of Middleborough; Gianna Tacovelli, of Taunton; and Brianna Zamora, of Taunton.

In addition to Head Coach Jessica Holst, Assistant Coach Jenna Barber and Athletic Director Mark Lebeda joined the team on the trip.

Coach Holst congratulated her cheerleaders for their championship efforts and gave special thanks to the senior captains for their dedication throughout all four years of high school. She noted that the four seniors showed discipline and determination by continuing on with cheerleading despite the academic and work obligations that come with their co-op jobs as part of their technical vocations. In addition to cheerleading competitions and cheering on the school basketball and football teams, the B-P cheerleading squad participated in the annual Taunton Christmas Parade.

“They’ve been dedicated to the program throughout their entire high school career. At a technical school, that’s hard to do,” said Coach Holst, who is also a language arts instructor and class advisor. “Our cheerleaders have also held to high academic standards, maintaining their standing on the honor roll and their roles as ambassadors in the National Honor Society. They do community service and volunteer work. On top of being elite cheerleaders, they are all smart and good humans.”

Athletic Director Lebeda, Principal Guenette, and Superintendent-Director Magalhaes each congratulated the cheerleading team on an extraordinary season of accomplishments and on being crowned international champions.

“This championship win is the product of a lot of hard work by our cheerleaders, along with their coaching staff,” said Athletic Director Lebeda. “Thank you to all the families, faculty, and community members who have helped the Bristol-Plymouth cheerleading team achieve these incredible accomplishments.”

“I would like to congratulate the Bristol-Plymouth cheerleading team on an extraordinary season,” said Principal Guenette. “Their dedication to cheerleading and their academic achievements are phenomenal. We couldn’t be more proud.”

“We are proud of these amazing athletes and their dedicated coaching staff,” said Superintendent-Director Magalhaes. “Winning first place in an international competition is an incredible honor, but it also comes with a lot of effort and commitment. Congratulations once again to our Bristol-Plymouth cheerleaders.”
