Sudbury Police and Fire Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash

SUDBURY — Police Chief Scott Nix and Fire Chief Timothy Choate report that Sudbury Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle crash early this morning.

SUDBURY — Police Chief Scott Nix and Fire Chief Timothy Choate report that Sudbury Police and Fire responded to a motor vehicle crash early this morning. 

On Tuesday, March 18, at approximately 8:25 a.m., Sudbury Police and Fire were dispatched to the intersection of Water Row and Old Sudbury Road for reports that a school van had crashed into a body of water.

Upon arrival, crews located a school van that appeared to be stuck in a shallow swampy area. Members of Sudbury Fire, with assistance from Wayland Fire, put on their water rescue gear and waded into the area to extract the driver and other occupants. 

All occupants were evaluated on scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Sudbury Police.
