TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Shaun Woods is pleased to announce that a new officer has joined the ranks of the Tyngsborough Police Department following his graduation from the Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MPTC) Northern Essex Community College Police Academy.

The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, Feb. 14, at Northern Essex Community College, was attended by family, friends, and members of local law enforcement agencies who gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the newest academy graduates from across Massachusetts.

Officer Jason Rubino, a Litchfield, N.H. native, earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from New Hampshire Technical Institute before obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Plymouth State University.

Officer Rubino successfully completed the rigorous 26-week police academy training curriculum and will now begin a 12-week department-specific field training program.

Under the guidance of experienced field training officers, he will receive hands-on instruction to apply his academy training in real-world policing scenarios as he integrates into the Tyngsborough community.

During the graduation ceremony, Officer Rubino received his official Tyngsborough Police badge from his father, Officer Charles Rubino, a 26-year veteran of the Tyngsborough Police Department — a proud and memorable moment for both father and son.

“Please join us in welcoming Officer Rubino to the Tyngsborough Police Department and wishing him success in his new role,” said Chief Woods.
