MATTAPOISETT — Old Rochester Regional School District and MA Superintendency Union #55 Superintendent Michael S. Nelson and Athletic Director Chris Carrig are pleased to announce that the Old Rochester Regional High School Athletic Department is launching a campaign allowing corporate advertising on school grounds to offset operating costs and improve the student-athlete experience.
The Old Rochester Regional High School Athletic Department is leveraging the existing Old Rochester Regional District School Committee policy surrounding advertising to support campus improvements and other discretionary spending in the Athletic Department.
The District is offering windscreen ads that are approximately 4 feet by 8 feet and will be displayed prominently upon entry to the campus on the fence of the tennis courts. The ads are made of durable material expected to last for years. Corporate logos and information will be proudly displayed in the Bulldog team colors of red and white on a black background.
The District plans to offer future advertising and digital opportunities on campus as well.
Athletics programs at Old Rochester reach over 70% of the student body population.
The District generates revenue from athlete user fees each season, participation in Old Rochester Regional Athletic Boosters and team fundraisers, and ticket fees for football and basketball games, but there are no additional internal revenue sources to advance the athletic program’s current state.
The District plans to use advertising revenue for repairs and upgrades to facilities, equipment, and athletic apparel.
“This new advertising opportunity will allow businesses to prominently display their information on our campus, with the benefit of supporting our growing and ever-important athletics programs,” Athletic Director Chris Carrig said. “We want to provide the best for our student-athletes, and additional revenue will help advance this mission.”
“The majority of our Old Rochester Regional students participate in the various athletic programs we offer,” Superintendent Nelson said. “We want to continue to provide them with the best equipment, facilities, and programming possible. Now, local businesses can help in this endeavor by purchasing advertising space on our high school campus.”
