NEW LONDON — Superintendent John Fortney and Athletic Director Taylor Lipinski are pleased to share that Carly Grant has been named Kearsarge Regional High School’s (KRHS) student-athlete of the month for January.

Kearsarge student-athletes of the month are seniors who are qualified NHIAA “Scholar Athletes,” accumulating a B+ or equivalent GPA over their time at KRHS and actively participating in two or more sports offerings. These athletes consistently demonstrate commitment to their programs, care for their teammates and peers and are competing at their highest potential.

Student-athletes are chosen each month through collaborative efforts of the entire athletic team.

Grant is a student-athlete on the basketball and soccer teams. She is a captain on the soccer team and received the honor of Division III second-team all-state for the fall 2024 season.

Grant was recognized by coaches for her leadership skills on the field and during practices, which helped create a healthy environment for the team to enjoy playing a sport they love without exterior pressure.

“Congratulations to our first-ever Kearsarge Student Athlete of the Month, Carly Grant! When looking for potential candidates we look for individuals who exhibit our “portrait of an athlete” and the values it promotes,” said Lipinski. “Carly goes above and beyond demonstrating herself as a caring leader for her teammates in the basketball and soccer programs. Not only does she continue to grow through the programs she participates in, but she also takes time to assist with other game operations roles along the way.”
