BOURNE — Superintendent Dr. Kerri Anne Quinlan-Zhou, Bourne High School Principal Dr. Lisa Maguire, and Bourne Middle School Principal Christine Borning are proud to share that 16 student musicians from Bourne recently qualified to perform as part of prestigious regional ensembles in several upcoming festivals.
Auditions for various regional choirs and concert bands took place throughout November, with seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen, and a seventh-grader from Bourne Public Schools selected to perform in the All-Eastern Honors Ensembles, the All Cape and Island Music Festival, the Southeast District Music Festival, the Rose Parade, and the Junior Southeast Music Festival.
For the first time in more than seven years, a Bourne High School student was chosen to perform as part of the All-Eastern Honors Ensembles:
- Molly Lodge – Soprano, senior
The National Association for Music Education Eastern Division is hosting the All-Eastern Honors Ensembles at the Connecticut Convention Center as part of the Eastern Division Conference in Hartford, scheduled for April 24-27.
This is the first time that a Bourne High School student qualified for the All-Eastern Honors Ensembles since 2017. Lodge was one of four sopranos from Massachusetts who were chosen for the group.
The 12 Bourne High School students who were selected to participate in the All Cape and Island Music Festival are:
- Odin Yeary – Vocalist, freshman
- Logan Koosa – Vocalist, senior
- Sam Turgiss – Vocalist, sophomore
- Jaclyn Valencia – Euphonium, junior
- Arianna Traver – Vocalist, sophomore
- Claire Koosa – Vocalist, senior
- Molly Lodge – Soprano, senior
- Elise Dean – Vocalist, senior
- Tallulah Beane – Vocalist, senior
- Shea Reilly – Vocalist, freshman
- Kyla Reekie – Vocalist, freshman
- Adrianna DeMoura – Vocalist, senior
The All Cape and Islands Music Festival will be held from Jan. 31 through Feb. 1 at Barnstable High School in Hyannis.

- Arianna Traver – Vocalist, sophomore
- Elise Dean – Vocalist, senior
- Tallulah Beane – Vocalist, senior
- Shea Reilly – Vocalist, freshman
- Kyla Reekie – Vocalist, freshman
- Molly Lodge – Soprano, senior
The Southeast District Music Festival will be held Jan. 10-11 at New Bedford High School.
The three Bourne High School students selected to play in the Rose Parade as part of the New England Honor Band are:
- John Barmashi – Alto saxophone, junior
- Jaclyn Valencia – Euphonium, junior
- Caden Doherty – Euphonium, junior
The New England Honor Band is performing at the nationally televised Rose Parade, preceding the 111th Rose Bowl Game set for Jan. 1 in Pasadena, California. The New England Honor Band is also performing at Bandfest, which is scheduled to be held prior to the Rose Bowl at Pasadena City College on Dec. 29-30.
And the one Bourne Middle School student selected for the Junior District
Chorus to perform in the Junior Southeast Music Festival is:
- Ronan Stanton – Soprano, seventh-grader
The Junior District Chorus is scheduled to perform in the Junior Southeast Music
Festival at Hingham High School on March 7-8.
Bourne High School Music Director Lisa Fournier congratulated all students who auditioned and wished those selected the best of luck in their upcoming performances.
“I am very proud of all of our students for their hard work and dedication to music and performing,” said Music Director Fournier. “Our students should feel extremely accomplished. These upcoming festivals, filled with so much talent, are amazing opportunities for our students to shine on the regional stage and national stage. It’s been an honor to watch them grow into wonderful singers and musicians.”
Superintendent Dr. Quinlan-Zhou echoed those sentiments, saluting all of Bourne’s student musicians for their hard work and dedication.
“I congratulate all of our vocalists and instrumentalists for honing their talents and challenging themselves to audition and be accepted to these high-level ensembles,” said Superintendent Dr. Quinlan-Zhou. “I’d like to recognize our music teachers: Lisa Fournier (Bourne High School), Rebecca Salgado and Elizabeth MacKenzie (Bourne Middle School) for preparing these young musicians, along with Bourne High School Principal Dr. Lisa Maguire and Bourne Middle School Principal Christine Borning for their steadfast support of our music and art programs. We look forward to seeing our musicians perform on Bourne stages and beyond.”
