ACUSHNET — Superintendent Dr. Paula Bailey and Acushnet Elementary School (AES) Principal Leah Chesney are pleased to announce that the first-ever Jingle Jog event will be held on Dec. 16.
“Students will don jingle bells on their shoes and jog around the track during their specialty class — a real jingle jog,” Principal Chesney said. “We would love to gather donations of hats and mittens, which we will pass on to Gifts to Give in Acushnet. If you want to donate, you do not need to wait until Dec. 16 to send it in! Donations can be made to the main office at AES. Thank you so much for your support.”
Students will be given bells to wear on their sneakers, and the jingle-joggers will take a lap around the AES track, spreading cheer for all to hear.
Acushnet Elementary School students each have a “specialty” class built into their day — such as art, music, physical education, etc.
“Instead of having their class, they will jog around the track,” Principal Chesney said. “After their jog, students will enjoy some hot cocoa.”
