Acton Police and Fire Departments Respond to Crash Involving Pedestrian in a Wheelchair

ACTON — Police Chief James Cogan and Fire Chief Anita Arnum report that the Acton Police and Fire Departments responded Friday to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in a wheelchair. 

ACTON — Police Chief James Cogan and Fire Chief Anita Arnum report that the Acton Police and Fire Departments responded Friday to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in a wheelchair. 

On Friday, Dec. 6, at approximately 5:22 p.m., the Acton Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to the area of 117 Prospect St., for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

First responders arrived on scene to find that an approximately 90-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck by a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old woman. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with an investigation. 

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Acton Police Department.
