WOBURN — Principal Robert Nickerson is delighted to share that Malcolm White Elementary School students recently raised nearly $10,000 during the fifth annual Tiger Trot, organized by the Malcolm White PTO.
The Tiger Trot is a fundraising event held by the Malcolm White PTO during which all students have the opportunity to “trot” laps around the school’s field. The Tiger Trot took place on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Members of the school community can either donate a specific sum to the PTO or an amount based on the number of laps completed by the students.
With the support of more than a dozen PTO volunteers, 323 students trotted more than 1,200 laps around the school, raising nearly $10,000.
The funds will be used by the PTO to pay for enrichment activities like in-school presentations and field trips.
Students are encouraged to wear their school gear to the event. The trot was held on Halloween this year, so students had the option to wear costumes.
“This community-centric event is a highlight of every school year,” said Principal Nickerson. ”The students look forward to showing their trotting skills, all with the goal of raising funds so that they can take part in wonderful experiences, thanks to the PTO. Thank you to everyone involved for making this event a success once again!”
