STONEHAM — Superintendent David Ljungberg is pleased to share that Stoneham Public Schools collaborated with community partners to host a successful Safety Night on Nov. 4.
Safety Night provided an opportunity for parents, caregivers, students and members of the community to learn about student safety protocols, anti-bullying education and available health resources.
Members of the Stoneham Police and Fire Departments, Board of Health and Boys & Girls Club were present at the event alongside Stoneham school administrators to speak to the community about important safety topics and resources.
Topics discussed included mental health, tobacco and vaping, safe technology use and proper gun storage.
The event also introduced attendees to important resources available to them within the community, including Stoneham Alliance Against Violence, Eliot Community Human Services, STOP School Violence Program, and the Stoneham Coalition for a Safe & Healthy Community.
Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth also hosted an information session called “Raising Upstanders and Bystanders: Responding to Bullying at School.”
Stoneham Public Schools will be hosting another public safety meeting on Friday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. at Robin Hood Elementary School, 70 Oak St.
“We would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in Safety Night. Attending events like these allows our community to be informed and prepared to assist during the challenges students face in these pivotal years of their lives,” said Superintendent Ljungberg. “We would also like to thank our community partners for coming together and providing the expertise and support necessary to ensure the event’s success.”
