WOBURN — Principal Carl Nelson is pleased to share that Kennedy Middle School hosted a successful annual haunted house event.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, Kennedy Middle School hosted its annual Spooktacular. The event, which was open to the public, saw the middle school transform into a haunted house, complete with Halloween decorations and various frightening displays.
Haunted house visitors walked through the school building, which had several classrooms and hallways transformed into haunted scenes. Classrooms were decorated according to various spooky themes including clowns, spiders, “Hocus Pocus,” operating rooms and a haunted hallway.
Candy, water and popcorn were also for sale at the event.
More than 700 people attended, including children, parents and community members.
Kennedy Middle School raised about $5,000 over the course of the night. The money will be donated to community initiatives such as the Kennedy Food Pantry and Giving Tree.
The event was organized by Grade 8 science teacher Jade DiPersio. Several students and staff members also volunteered to assist throughout the event planning and hosting process. High school students also volunteered to be actors in the haunted house.
“We are so grateful to each of the community members who took the time to attend this event and donate money, which will help improve and maintain many necessary resources within the community,” said Principal Nelson. “I would also like to thank the students and staff of Kennedy Middle School for their outstanding efforts in making sure this event was accommodating to all.”
