The team was led by seniors Tanner Moulton and Peyton Sargent, who reeled in additional bass in the competition’s final hour to push Mascoma toward the championship title. The team is coached by Eric Moulton.
The win marks Mascoma’s second year claiming the state title. Last year, the team secured its first championship in program history, catching a dominant total of 22.24 pounds of bass.
“We are incredibly proud of the direction this program is going,” said Athletic Director Stebbins. “This group of kids works incredibly hard, and it is a pleasure to see their work pay off. Congratulations to all.”
“I would like to congratulate Coach Moulton and the team for this incredible accomplishment,” said Superintendent Isabelle. “Their win was hard-fought and well-deserved, and they should be incredibly proud of this achievement.”
