WEST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Timothy Nixon is pleased to share that the West Bridgewater Police Department has promoted Sgt. Jonathan Craven to the rank of lieutenant.
Craven will be sworn in as lieutenant at the Council on Aging on Oct. 30.
In his new role, Lt. Craven will serve as the second in command. He has served with the West Bridgewater Police since 2008 and has performed several duties. He has served as a patrol officer, detective, court prosecutor, and administrative support officer for Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council SWAT.
In addition to his law enforcement responsibilities, Lt. Craven currently serves as the department’s information technology officer and is also the evidence control supervisor and accreditation manager.
Lt. Craven holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Westfield State College and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College.
“Sgt. Craven is articulate, extremely intelligent, and has a proven record of exceptional police service over these 16 years,” Chief Nixon said. “He has been instrumental in our community programs and will be an asset in these functions going forward. He possesses a high level of organizational skill and the ability to oversee others in some of the highest liability areas within a police department. I have no doubt that Sgt. Craven’s maturity, professional knowledge, and experience will prove most beneficial in making decisions in the event of my absence.”
