WOBURN — Principal Meghan Patrissi is pleased to announce that Goodyear Elementary School has released a new, student-produced promotional video showcasing its school store, Goodyear Goodies.
The video was a collaboration between the Goodyear Elementary School Store Student Marketing Team and Woburn Memorial High School student helpers. It was released on Oct. 4 prior to Goodyear Goodies’s grand opening on Oct. 10.
The video features the students who run the store as they perform a skit based on the student body waiting for the store’s opening. While creating the video, they implemented important lessons they learned while operating the store such as teamwork, creativity, and financial literacy. Woburn Memorial students helped the young entrepreneurs with the video by providing script writing and technological support.
Goodyear Goodies is led by third-grade teacher Peggy Billings and offers a variety of school supplies and seasonal trinkets. The store and its promotional video aim to promote student engagement and school spirit. It also serves as a way for students to practice the school’s monthly character traits in their everyday lives. October’s trait was responsibility, which students exercised by taking on hired positions within the store.
“We are excited to provide our students with the opportunity to collaborate with high school role models and add a new highlight of social media marketing as another skill learned,” said Meghan Patrissi, Principal of Goodyear. “The video not only highlights our store but also the valuable lessons our students learn through this initiative.”
Parents, students and community members are invited to watch and support the students of Goodyear Goodies by watching the video here. For more information please contact Principal Patrissi at mpatrissi@woburnps.com.
