ACTON — Fire Chief Anita Arnum reports that the Acton Fire Department has tackled its second apartment fire in a week.
On Friday, Oct. 18, at 5:33 p.m., Acton firefighters received a report of a fire at 18 Strawberry Hill Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire in an apartment kitchen. The blaze was quickly knocked down.
A resident suffered minor burns, but refused treatment.
Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord and Westford.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Acton Fire Department.
Chief Arnum asks residents to make sure their smoke detectors are operational, especially with the upcoming switch to standard time. Change your clocks and change your smoke detector batteries!
