LITTLETON — Chief Matthew Pinard is pleased to report that the Littleton Police Department is welcoming a new police officer — Littleton native Adam Zaferacopoulos.
Officer Zaferacopoulos grew up in Littleton and participated in a Littleton Police Department Student Police Academy as a 12 year old. In his senior year of high school, Zaferacopoulos also worked as an intern with Littleton Police.
After graduating from Littleton High School in 2019, Zaferacopoulos joined Littleton Police as a part-time dispatcher. He became a full-time dispatcher in 2021.
Earlier this year, in May, Zaferacopoulos began attending the Lowell Police Academy. He graduated Thursday.
Zaferacopoulos will now undergo a 12-week field training program under the supervision of a more experienced officer.
“Adam’s commitment to public service and dedication to protecting the community are evident through his hard work and achievements at the academy,” said Chief Pinard. “This is what we strive for in our community. We invested in our future with Adam when he was a young man, and now he has completed the police academy and joined our department. I look forward to seeing him continue to grow and serve our community.”
