Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
WHERE:
Bridgewater Police Station Outbuilding, 220 Pleasant St., Bridgewater, MA 02324
WHAT:
The Bridgewater Police Department, the American Red Cross and various faith organizations have joined together to host a community blood and food drive in celebration of National Faith & Blue Weekend.
The event is part of the nationwide Faith & Blue initiative, which will take place Oct. 11-14 this year. This initiative is designed to facilitate safer and stronger communities by engaging law enforcement officers and local residents through the connections of faith-based organizations.
The department and partnering faith organizations will collect donations for the local food pantry during the event. Guests are encouraged to donate non-expired and non-perishable items, such as canned food (veggies, soups, beans, fruits), peanut butter and jelly, condiments, baking goods, muffin/cake mix, juice boxes, pasta and jarred sauce and macaroni and cheese, as well as paper goods, toilet paper, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent and dish detergent.
There will be an area designated to the American Red Cross where community members can donate blood. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit redcrossblood.org and enter “BRIDGEWATER.”
The event is free to attend and open to all.
